E-Folio

Individual learning through IT is one of the ways forward in education, and this half term we have been introducing an online computer based Learning Platform named 'e-folio'. The benefits are to increase independence and personalised learning. Pupils can keep up to date with the class if they are away form school for any reason and of course all the children enjoy using the computer in their learning! Each pupil has a user name and password to access the class desktop. Practice tasks, research material, homework, school related information and other activities can all be added to the page which is edited by the class teacher. Pupils also have their own password protected desktop page and email address. Pupils can access e-folio from their computer at home. This is an Essex facility that is managed here in school for our own pupils. Training for staff and system support are delivered by Essex, and there is built in screening for internet safety and appropriate use. In school our own protection reinforces this. As the system becomes established we will be preparing an e-folio guide for parents, which will come to you next half term.
